Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, has ordered heightened security across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Friday prayers, directing police officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements at mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets and other sensitive locations. IG Punjab directed that patrolling be increased around mosques, imambargahs, business centers and on major roads. IG Punjab said that maintaining law and order and protecting the lives, properties and belongings of citizens is the foremost priority of Punjab Police. In this regard, all DPOs and senior police officers should remain present in the field and personally review the security arrangements. IG Punjab further directed that after Friday prayers, Police Officers should listen to the problems of citizens at their doorstep through outreach at mosques and take effective measures for their immediate resolution.
