LAHORE - Punjab Police Inspector General Abdul Kareem, accompanied by the Lahore CCPO and DIG Investigation held a press conference at the Central Police Office. He claimed that a transparent investigation had been conducted from every aspect into the deaths of two women within the jurisdiction of Township Police Station, Lahore. According to the available medical report, both women died due to excessive drug use. The Medical Board found no evidence of physical violence, external injury, or wounds. The magisterial inquiry conducted under Section 176 of the Code of Criminal Procedure also found no evidence of police torture. Complete CCTV footage of the incident was reviewed, while statements of the concerned police officers and witnesses were also recorded. Both women had been brought to Township Police Station following action taken on a 15 emergency call. Upon receipt of the complainant’s written application, FIR No. 1476/26 under Sections 379/420 PPC was registered immediately.
