Punjab Police have arrested 7,886 members of 3,295 organised criminal gangs across the province during the current year and recovered stolen property worth more than Rs2.33 billion, police said on Tuesday. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, ongoing operations against organised criminal gangs have been intensified across Lahore and other parts of the province. The recovered property includes 291 vehicles, 6,341 motorcycles, 5,217 mobile phones, 2,356 livestock and 1,175 tolas of gold. Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem has directed police officers to further intensify operations against criminal elements across the province. He instructed that indiscriminate action against organised criminal gangs should continue and that all possible measures be taken to protect the lives and property of citizens.
