More than 90,500 minority citizens benefited from Meesaq Centers across Punjab this year; issues of over 23,200 resolved. Meesaq Centers playing a key role in providing services to minority citizens and promoting interfaith harmony: IG Punjab
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, on the occasion of National Minorities Day, extended his warm greetings to all minority communities, including Hindus, Christians and Sikhs, and reaffirmed Punjab Police’s commitment to protecting the rights of minorities and serving them with dedication. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that Punjab Police is committed to safeguarding the rights of minority communities and ensuring the protection of their lives and property. He said the contributions and sacrifices of minority communities in the creation of Pakistan and the country’s development and progress are highly valued and appreciated. IG Punjab further said that officers and personnel belonging to minority communities serving in Punjab Police are also rendering commendable services to the department. He said Meesaq Centers have been established to facilitate minority citizens, address their issues promptly and provide them with police-related services.
IG Punjab said that Meesaq Centers are playing an important role in providing police-related services to minority citizens, ensuring prompt resolution of their issues and promoting interfaith harmony. He added that issues faced by minority citizens are being addressed on a priority basis through the platform of Meesaq Centers. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, more than 90,500 minority citizens have benefited from Meesaq Centers across Punjab, including Lahore, so far this year, while the issues of more than 23,200 minority citizens have been resolved. In addition, more than 63,600 minority citizens have been provided services related to Police Khidmat Marakaz through the Meesaq Centers.
Punjab Police Spokesperson further said that in Lahore, more than 24,500 minority citizens have benefited from Meesaq Centers so far. The issues of more than 8,000 citizens have been resolved, while more than 12,000 minority citizens have been provided services related to Police Khidmat Markaz. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the staff comprising Christian officers at Meesaq Centers is working on a priority basis to resolve the issues of minority citizens and facilitate them in obtaining police-related services.
