Police Martyrs' Day observed across the province with reverence and respect; rich tribute paid to the fallen heroes.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem, along with senior police officers, visited the graves of police martyrs, presented guards of honour, offered Fateha, and laid floral wreaths.
Senior police officers also visited the homes of the martyrs, met their children and families, presented medals to the martyrs' families, and distributed gifts among their children.
On the occasion of Police Martyrs' Day, Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem visited the graves of martyred DIG Captain (Retd.) Syed Ahmad Mubeen, martyred DIG Fayyaz Ahmad Sumbal, and martyred ASI Muhammad Fayyaz. He laid floral wreaths on their graves and offered Fateha for the elevation of their ranks. CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, DIG Traffic Punjab Waqas Nazir, DIG Administration Imran Kishwar, CTO Lahore Abdul Raheem Sherazi, along with other senior police officers, accompanied the IGP. Smartly turned-out police contingents presented a Guard of Honour at the graves of the martyrs.
Later, the IGP visited the residences of martyred DIG Captain (Retd.) Syed Ahmad Mubeen and martyred ASI Muhammad Fayyaz, where he met their mothers and other family members. Paying tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs, the IGP said that the services rendered by the police martyrs for the nation, the people and Punjab Police would always be remembered.
Furthermore, a dignified ceremony was organized at the District Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, Lahore, in connection with Police Martyrs' Day. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem was the chief guest, while the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Lahore Garrison attended as the guest of honour. CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, DIG Investigation Zeeshan Reza, DIG Administration Imran Kishwar, SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed, senior police officers and personnel, as well as the families of police martyrs, participated in the ceremony. President of the Lahore Press Club Arshad Ansari, senior journalists, and analysts were also present.
In his welcome address, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana highlighted the welfare initiatives undertaken for the families of police martyrs. Family members and children of the martyrs also shared their thoughts and experiences. Police and Pakistan Army officers paid glowing tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the police martyrs and their families. Medals were presented to the families of the martyrs, while gifts were distributed among their children.
Addressing the ceremony, Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the Punjab Police and the Armed Forces of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder as the frontline defenders of the nation and its people. Despite the cowardly attacks by Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan on police checkpoints in Bhakkar and Dera Ghazi Khan, the morale of the police force remains higher than ever. He said that the police force continues to stand firm with courage, determination, and unwavering commitment to safeguard the country's internal frontiers.
IGP further said that, owing to the relentless efforts of Punjab Police, the crime rate across the province has declined significantly. He reaffirmed Punjab Police's resolve to continue making every sacrifice necessary for the protection of the lives and property of the citizens. He also emphasized that further improvements would be made in the welfare initiatives for the families of police martyrs.
