Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, paid rich tribute to the brave sons of Punjab Police who embraced martyrdom in the service of the nation on the occasion of Police Martyrs' Day. He said that the courageous martyrs who laid down their lives for the peace, security, and protection of the people of Pakistan are the pride of the nation. He said that 1,743 brave personnel of Punjab Police sacrificed their precious lives while fighting terrorism, maintaining peace, and combating criminal elements. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that he also salutes the great mothers who sacrificed their beloved sons for the homeland and made unparalleled sacrifices for a safer future of the nation. He said that Police Martyrs' Day is a day to renew our pledge, and living nations never forget their heroes.
The police martyrs sacrificed their today for the nation, ensuring a secure tomorrow for future generations. The IG Punjab further said that the welfare and well-being of the families of police martyrs remain his top priority, and Punjab Police will never leave the heirs of its martyrs alone. Punjab Police spokesperson said that, in view of the security responsibilities for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), Police Martyrs' Day ceremonies will be observed with great reverence and respect on August 05. On this occasion, Guard of Honour ceremonies will be held at the graves of the martyrs, Fateha will be offered for the elevation of their ranks, recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayers will be arranged in mosques, while senior police officers will visit the families of the police martyrs to pay tribute to their everlasting sacrifices.
