Officers and personnel of Punjab Police performed security duties while remaining on high alert during Christian worship and prayer services held in churches across the province, including Lahore.

Earlier, Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem issued directives to RPOs, DPOs, and senior police officers to enhance security at churches. He said that supervisory officers should personally inspect the security arrangements of churches as well as other important and sensitive locations. He directed that additional police personnel and snipers be deployed at sensitive churches, while teams of the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force should ensure effective patrolling around churches. IG Punjab directed that all deployed police officers and personnel should remain highly vigilant and keep a close watch on miscreant elements. He further instructed that search and sweep operations should continue around churches, Christian localities, and other sensitive places. Abdul Kareem said that religious scholars, the Christian community, and members of Peace Committees should promote interfaith harmony.
