Security Remained on High Alert Across Punjab, Including Lahore, on Friday
Following the Orders of IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Security and patrolling were further enhanced at mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets, sensitive locations, and highways.
On the directions of IG Punjab, search, sweep, and combing operations, as well as security at inter-provincial border checkpoints, also remained on high alert.
On the orders of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, security remained on high alert across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Friday prayers. IG Punjab had directed that security be further strengthened at mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets, sensitive locations, foreign consulates, and other key installations. In accordance with his instructions, police patrolling around mosques, imambargahs, commercial centres, and on major roads was intensified, while checking of suspicious vehicles, individuals, and luggage at the entry and exit points of Lahore and all other cities was further tightened.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that maintaining law and order and protecting the lives, property, and belongings of citizens is the foremost priority of Punjab Police. He directed all DPOs and senior police officers to remain present in the field, personally review the security arrangements, and ensure effective monitoring of all sensitive locations. IG Punjab further ordered that personnel deployed at inter-provincial border police checkpoints remain on maximum alert and keep a close watch on Fitna Al-Khawarij, Fitna Al-Hindustan, and other anti-state and disruptive elements. He also directed that search, sweep, and combing operations around mosques, imambargahs, foreign consulates, and other important and sensitive locations continue without interruption to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for the public.
