We Salute the Brave Sons Who Laid Down Their Lives in the Line of Duty and Their Families, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem paid rich tribute to the Punjab Police martyrs on the occasion of the 9th martyrdom anniversary of the police personnel who embraced martyrdom in the suicide attack at Arfa Karim Tower, Lahore. IG Punjab said, "We salute the brave sons who laid down their lives in the line of duty and their families." Punjab Police Spokesperson said that on 24th July 2017, eight officers and personnel of Punjab Police embraced martyrdom in a suicide attack at Arfa Karim Tower, Lahore. The martyrs included one Sub-Inspector, one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), and six Constables. Those who attained the rank of martyrdom were Sub-Inspector Riaz Ahmad, ASI Fayyaz Ahmad, Constables Sajjad Ali, Abid Ali, Ali Raza, Ghulam Murtaza, Umair Ghani, and Muazzam Ali.
