IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Directs Police Force to Ensure Active Participation in Rescue Operations During Emergencies
Supervisory Police Officers to Personally Oversee Relief Operations in Rain-Affected Areas, IG Punjab
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem has directed all Punjab Police officers and personnel to remain on high alert in view of the rainfall in Lahore and various districts across the province and to ensure immediate rescue and relief operations in the event of any emergency. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that police officers and personnel should perform their duties in rain-affected areas with utmost vigilance, responsibility and professionalism, while supervisory officers should personally monitor relief activities and remain present in the field.
He said that Punjab Police is in continuous coordination with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the district administration, Rescue 1122, WASA and other relevant departments to effectively respond to any emergency situation arising from the rainfall. IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police Control Rooms are also continuously monitoring the situation and any losses caused by the rainfall, while police officers and personnel are assisting WASA and other departments in the drainage of rainwater from roads in Lahore as well as other rain-affected areas.
He further said that full cooperation with the relevant departments should continue for the rescue and safe evacuation of citizens affected by the rainfall. In view of the possibility of further rain, all officers and personnel should remain alert at all times and ensure an immediate response to any emergency situation.
