On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, the weekly General Parade was held across the province, including Lahore. Senior police officers inspected the parade, while the participating contingents presented a salute. Officers and personnel from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, Special Protection Unit (SPU), Ladies Police, Investigation Wing, and Operations Wing police stations participated enthusiastically in the General Parade.
Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the parade, senior officers checked the turnout of the officers and personnel participating in the parade. Smartly turned-out contingents performed an impressive march-past, while women police personnel also participated actively in the General Parade. The spokesperson further said that the weekly General Parade is being held regularly every Monday throughout the province. On this occasion, district police officers also inspected the armoury, Motor Transport Wing, miscellaneous stores, uniform warehouse, and other relevant sections.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the objective of the General Parade is to keep police personnel alert at all times and to promote discipline, unity, and camaraderie within the force. He said that a parade is the finest demonstration of discipline in any force and also reflects the history, heritage, and traditions of the police force. IG Punjab further said that through the General Parade, officers and personnel maintain their physical fitness, which further enhances the professional capacity and overall performance of the police force.
