6,687 members of 2,753 gangs arrested during the current year; stolen property worth over Rs. 1.7159 billion recovered.
Punjab Police has continued vigorous operations against organized criminal gangs across Lahore and the rest of the province. Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the current year, 6,687 members of 2,753 gangs have been arrested. During these operations, stolen property worth more than Rs. 1.7159 billion was recovered from the possession of the accused. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that 255 vehicles, 4,713 motorcycles, 4,105 mobile phones, 2,131 livestock animals, and 915 tolas of gold were also recovered from the possession of the accused. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, directed police officers to further intensify operations against criminal elements across the province. He said that indiscriminate action against organized criminal gangs must continue and the protection of the lives and properties of citizens should be ensured at all costs.
