Punjab Police Continues Crackdown Against Proclaimed Offenders, Habitual Criminals and Court Absconders Wanted in Heinous Crimes

More Than 87,000 Proclaimed Offenders, Over 27,000 Court Absconders and More Than 10,000 Habitual Criminals Arrested During the Current Year

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Commends Police Teams for Arresting Proclaimed Offenders and Court Absconders

Punjab Police continues its vigorous crackdown across the province against proclaimed offenders wanted in heinous crimes, court absconders and habitual criminal elements. Giving details, the Punjab Police Spokesperson said that more than 87,000 proclaimed offenders have been arrested from across the province, including Lahore, during the current year. The arrested proclaimed offenders include 23,583 Category-A offenders and 63,881 Category-B offenders. Punjab Police Spokesperson further said that more than 27,000 court absconders have also been arrested from across the province, including 4,331 Category-A court absconders and more than 23,000 Category-B court absconders. During the crackdown, 10,632 habitual criminals were also arrested, including 3,832 Category-A habitual criminals and 6,800 Category-B habitual criminals. In the provincial capital, Lahore, the crackdown also resulted in the arrest of 19,103 proclaimed offenders, 8,938 court absconders and 4,214 habitual criminals. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem appreciated the performance of the police teams that arrested proclaimed offenders and court absconders and commended them for their efforts. He directed that operations for the arrest of proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals and court absconders should be further accelerated and carried out more effectively.
