Accountability Process Continues in Punjab Police; DSP Operations Civil Lines Lahore Suspended
Departmental Inquiry Ordered on Charges of Incompetence, Corruption, and Abuse of Authority; Suspension Notification Issued
Corruption, Misuse of Authority, and Violation of the Code of Conduct Will Not Be Tolerated Under Any Circumstances, IG Punjab
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, further strengthening the process of, merit, and accountability in Punjab Police, has ordered the immediate suspension of DSP Operations Civil Lines Lahore, Khurram Shahzad Cheema, and directed him to report to the Central Police Office. Punjab Police spokesperson said that DSP Khurram Shahzad Cheema has been suspended on misuse of incompetence, corruption, and misuse of authority, while DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan has also issued the formal suspension notification in this regard. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has also ordered a departmental inquiry against DSP Khurram Shahzad Cheema. Appropriate disciplinary action will be determined in accordance with the rules and regulations in light of the inquiry report.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that corruption, misuse of office, and abuse of authority will not be tolerated in Punjab Police under any circumstances. He emphasized that a strict and impartial accountability process against officers and personnel found guilty of violating the code of conduct will continue so to ensure greater transparency, uphold the rule of law, and further strengthen public confidence in the police department.
