Punjab Police Intensifies Crackdown Against Proclaimed Offenders, Court Absconders and Habitual Criminals Wanted in Heinous Crimes

Punjab Police Arrests Over 76,000 Proclaimed Offenders, 18,000 Court Absconders and 9,000 Habitual Criminals This Year

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Commends Police Teams for Arresting Proclaimed Offenders and Court Absconders

Punjab Police is continuing a vigorous crackdown across the province against proclaimed offenders wanted in heinous crimes, court absconders and habitual criminal elements. Giving details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that more than 76,000 proclaimed offenders have been arrested from across the province, including Lahore, during the current year. The arrested proclaimed offenders include 20,611 Category-A offenders and 55,437 Category-B offenders. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that more than 18,000 court absconders have also been arrested from across the province, including 1,060 Category-A and over 17,000 Category-B court absconders. During the crackdown, 9,482 habitual criminals were also arrested, including 3,473 Category-A and 6,009 Category-B habitual offenders. In the provincial capital Lahore, the crackdown resulted in the arrest of 15,568 proclaimed offenders, 7,841 court absconders and 3,590 habitual criminals. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem appreciated the performance of police teams involved in arresting proclaimed offenders and court absconders and commended their efforts. He directed that operations against criminal elements be further intensified.
