On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem visited Dera Ghazi Khan and inspected Jhangi Check Post. IG Punjab met the families of police personnel martyred in the Jhangi Check Post attack, offered condolences, and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs. IG Punjab, while appreciating the bravery, courage, and professional services of the brave officers and personnel deployed at Jhangi Check Post on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, said that Punjab Police is fully implementing the Safe Punjab vision of the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. During the visit, the IG Punjab reviewed the damage caused to the building of Jhangi Check Post and issued orders for its immediate reconstruction and restoration. He directed that the building, boundary wall, and bunkers of the check post be further strengthened and made more secure so that any possible future threat can be effectively countered. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem also issued orders to further tighten security arrangements at all check posts across the province. He directed the concerned officers to further improve the security, surveillance, and defensive capability of the check posts.
