Punjab Police finalized the security arrangements for 3rd match of Pakistan–Australia International ODI Series.

Security further strengthened at Gaddafi Stadium, team accommodations, and routes; more than 8,000 police personnel deployed.

Spectators to be allowed entry only after three-tier security screening; citizens urged to cooperate: IG Punjab.

On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, Punjab Police officers and personnel are fully prepared to ensure foolproof security arrangements at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, team accommodations, routes, and other relevant locations on the occasion of the third match of the Pakistan, Australia International ODI Series. IG Punjab directed DIG Operations Lahore to ensure the security of teams, match officials, and spectators, while CTO Lahore was instructed to effectively and comprehensively manage traffic arrangements. He said that complete security will be provided to players, spectators, and citizens. Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the match, SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, traffic police, along with more than 8,000 police officers and personnel, will perform security and traffic duties.

IG Punjab directed that, in view of the prevailing security situation, security arrangements around team routes, accommodations, and Gaddafi Stadium be further reinforced. He said that during the match, patrolling by Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force should be further intensified. IG Punjab instructed senior police officers to conduct a detailed advance review of all security and traffic arrangements. He said that CCTV monitoring will remain continuous around team accommodations, routes, and the stadium, while snipers will also be deployed on rooftops, within the stadium, and at key locations. IG Punjab further said that all police officers & personnel must remain alert and keep a strict watch on miscreants. He directed that spectators be allowed entry into the stadium only after passing through a three-tier security cordon and complete screening. IG Punjab directed police personnel to treat citizens with courtesy and said that citizens should also fully cooperate with the police during security checks so that a peaceful and secure environment for the match can be ensured.
