Process of evacuation of illegally residing foreign nationals continues across Punjab
Punjab Police has so far deported 35,216 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghans, from Lahore and across Punjab: Punjab Police Spokesperson.
The process of deportation of illegally residing foreign nationals across the province is continuing. In this regard, Punjab Police has so far deported 35,216 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghans, from Lahore and across the province, while 208 illegally residing individuals are currently present at various holding points. Punjab Police spokesperson, while providing details, said that among those deported are 13,766 men, 7,061 women, and 14,389 children. Among the deportees, 10,954 were Proof of Residence (PoR) card holders, 11,131 Afghan Citizen Card holders, while 13,131 were illegally residing foreign nationals. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said that security across the province is on high alert and the removal of all illegally residing individuals is being ensured. He further said that Punjab Police is implementing the policy of deportation of illegally residing foreign nationals in accordance with international laws.
