LAHORE:Punjab Police has promoted 47 junior clerks to the rank of senior clerk following the approval of a departmental promotion board, as the process of merit-based promotions continues across the force on the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem. A Promotion Board meeting for advancement from junior clerk to senior clerk was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of DIG Establishment-II Suleman Sultan Rana. SSP Special Branch Ismail-ur-Rehman, AIG Administration and Security Qazi Farooq Sultan, Registrar Humair Ahmad Qureshi and AD Administration Iftikhar Anwar attended the meeting. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, more than 90 cases were reviewed, and 47 junior clerks who met the prescribed merit, seniority and service criteria were approved for promotion. AIG Administration and Security Qazi Farooq Sultan subsequently issued the promotion notification. The IGP congratulated the promoted officials.He added that the policy of granting promotions on the basis of performance, seniority, competence and merit would continue.
