Arrival of Eid-ul-Adha: Punjab Police Completed the Security Arrangements
Over 45,000 Police Personnel to Secure Eid Congregations at 30,630 Mosques, Imambargahs and 907 Open Places Across Punjab

On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, Punjab Police have finalized security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha. A comprehensive strategy has been devised for the protection of mosques, Imambargahs, Eid congregations, cattle markets, bazaars and citizens across the province. Spokesperson Punjab Police, while sharing details, said that more than 45,000 officers and personnel will perform security duties for Eid congregations at 30,630 mosques, Imambargahs and 907 open places across the province, while 316 special teams of the Quick Response Force will also remain deployed on security duty. A total of 11,130 metal detectors, 327 walkthrough gates and 15,273 CCTV cameras will also be utilized for security, checking and surveillance purposes.
Punjab Police spokesperson further said that in the provincial capital Lahore, more than 10,000 officers and personnel will be deployed for the security of over 5,000 Eid-ul-Adha congregations. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem, while directing that security remain on high alert during Eid-ul-Adha, said that in view of the current national security situation, strict vigilance should be maintained on the activities of Fitna Al-Khawarij, Fitna Al-Hindustan and other anti-state elements. Comprehensive security arrangements, additional force and plainclothes commandos should be deployed at sensitive locations, while combing operations across the province should be made more effective.
IG Punjab directed that complete checking and clearance of all mosques, Imambargahs and Eidgahs be ensured before Eid prayers. Cyber patrolling should be made more effective to curb hateful content on social media. Strict implementation of the SOPs issued by the Government of Punjab regarding sacrificial hides should be ensured, while enforcement of the ban on collection of sacrificial hides by proscribed and banned organizations should also be ensured. The use of loudspeakers for collecting hides will also remain prohibited. Abdul Kareem directed that with the assistance of Safe City cameras, continuous digital monitoring of security matters, cleanliness, cattle markets, bazaars and markets be ensured. Effective checking and security arrangements should be made in cattle markets to prevent incidents of cattle theft, robbery and fraud. Ban on display of weapons, aerial firing, one-wheeling and kite flying should be strictly enforced.
IG Punjab directed that additional personnel be deployed for the security of parks, recreational spots and public places during Eid holidays, adding that temporary swings should remain prohibited, while full cooperation with the district administration should continue for safety checking of swings in parks. Additional traffic wardens should be deployed at all relevant points to ensure smooth traffic flow during Eid-ul-Adha, while all available resources should be utilized for the convenience and protection of tourists at Murree and other tourist destinations.
