More Than 4,000 Officers and Personnel Deployed for Security of 222 Cattle Markets Across Punjab
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Orders Strict Action Against Illegal Cattle Markets, Unauthorized Sale Points and Criminal Elements
On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, strict security arrangements have been ensured at cattle markets across the province on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, while officers and personnel of Punjab Police are performing their duties on high alert for the protection of buyers and traders. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that more than 4,000 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 222 cattle markets across the province including Lahore. In Lahore, more than 600 police officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 6 cattle markets.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem, while issuing directions, said that comprehensive measures should be ensured for the security of traders and citizen buyers at cattle markets. No cattle market will be allowed at any place other than the points approved by the district administration, while legal action will be taken against illegal cattle markets and sale points. IG Punjab further said that an effective patrolling plan should be formulated for the suppression of fraudsters, pickpockets and criminal elements, while patrolling teams including Police Response Units should continue effective patrolling around cattle markets.
Spokesperson Punjab Police further said that 150 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 23 cattle markets in Sheikhupura Region. In Gujranwala Region, 525 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 44 cattle markets. In Rawalpindi Region, more than 340 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 22 cattle markets. In Sargodha Region, 170 officers and personnel are performing duties for the security of 22 cattle markets. In Faisalabad, more than 538 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 19 cattle markets. In Multan, more than 480 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 20 cattle markets. In Sahiwal, more than 230 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 11 cattle markets. In Bahawalpur, more than 410 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 29 cattle markets, while in DG Khan, more than 210 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 26 cattle markets.
