Process of evacuation of illegally residing foreign nationals continues across Punjab

The evacuation process of illegally residing foreign nationals across Punjab is underway. In continuation of this process, Punjab Police has so far deported more than 35,000 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghans, from across the province including Lahore, while 163 illegally residing individuals are present at different holding points. Providing details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that the deported individuals include 13,728 men, 7,048 women, and 14,366 children. Among those deported, 10,898 were residence proof holders, 11,131 were Afghan Citizen Card holders, while 13,113 were illegally residing foreign nationals. Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said that security across the province remains on high alert and the deportation of all illegally residing individuals is being ensured. He further said that Punjab Police is implementing the policy of deportation of illegally residing persons in accordance with international laws.
