Punjab Police, UNODC Discuss Unified National Strategy Against Cybercrime, Money Laundering and Human Trafficking. Workshops and Seminars Planned to Strengthen Inter-Provincial Coordination and Joint Strategy.
Advisor Criminal Justice and Legal Reforms of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Arslan Malik, met Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem at the Central Police Office. DIG Training Munir Ahmad Zia Rao was also present on the occasion. During the meeting, IG Punjab briefed the delegation on the ongoing initiatives of Punjab Police for the elimination of financial crime. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that it was agreed to further promote mutual cooperation between UNODC and Punjab Police in various sectors. Discussions were held on formulating a unified strategy for the entire country through inter-provincial coordination for the prevention of financial crime. On the occasion, emphasis was also laid on devising a joint and effective mechanism against heinous crimes including cybercrime, terrorism, money laundering, illegal human trafficking and drug smuggling. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that UNODC will organize consultative workshops and seminars for the promotion of financial crime strategy across Pakistan.
