During the Current Year, 152 Intelligence-Based and 77,501 Combing Operations Conducted, Millions of Individuals Questioned
Punjab Police are continuously carrying out intelligence-based and combing operations across the province, including Lahore, to further strengthen the law and order situation. Spokesperson for Punjab Police, while sharing details, said that during the current year, 152 intelligence-based operations were conducted across the province including Lahore, during which more than 11,000 individuals were questioned, while 160 criminals were taken into custody. During the current year, 77,501 combing operations were also conducted across the province including Lahore, during which more than 2.341 million individuals were questioned and 10,771 criminals and suspicious persons were taken into custody. During the combing operations, 58 Kalashnikovs, 213 rifles, 1,999 pistols, 152 guns, 44 revolvers, and thousands of bullets were recovered from the possession of criminal elements.
Punjab Police spokesperson further said that during the combing operations, 3,900 drug dealers were arrested and 3,890 cases were registered. From the possession of the arrested accused, 2,536 kilograms of charas, 278 kilograms of heroin, 102 kilograms of ice, 47 kilograms of opium, and 43,514 liters of liquor were recovered. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, said that intelligence-based and combing operations should continue without interruption to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable. He directed that the door-knocking process should be made more effective and coordinated for the prevention of terrorists and miscreant elements so that the protection of the life and properties of the public can be ensured.
