IG Punjab Abdul Kareem orders high alert across the province on Friday

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, on the occasion of Friday (Jummah), issued orders to enhance security across the province, including Lahore. IG Punjab directed that security at mosques, Imambargahs, places of worship, shrines, markets, and other sensitive locations must be ensured. IG Punjab directed that patrolling should be increased around mosques, Imambargahs, business centers, and main roads. He said that all DPOs and senior police officers should remain present in the field and personally review the security arrangements. Abdul Kareem further directed that search, sweep, and combing operations around mosques, Imambargahs, and sensitive locations should continue regularly. He said that continuous monitoring of mosques, places of worship, religious sites, and other sensitive installations should be ensured through Safe Cities cameras. IG Punjab also directed that senior police officers listen to the issues of citizens in mosques after Friday prayers and take prompt and effective measures for their resolution. He said that citizens’ problems should be heard at their doorstep through mosques and immediate action should be taken to resolve them.
