IG Punjab Abdul Kareem visited Gujranwala, inaugurates new building of Aimanabad Police Station and Police Khidmat Markaz.

 

 

 

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem visited Gujranwala, where he inaugurated the new building of Aimanabad Police Station and the Police Khidmat Markaz established at the RPO Office Gujranwala. Upon arrival at Police Lines Gujranwala, a smartly turned-out police contingent presented him a guard of honor. IG Punjab laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered Fateha. Addressing the police general gathering at Police Lines Gujranwala, IG Punjab directed officers to strictly implement Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision, better public behavior, merit, transparency, and the zero-tolerance policy against corruption. He said that no effort would be spared in improving service delivery and maintaining law and order to turn the vision of a crime-free Punjab into a practical reality. Later, the IG Punjab visited Safe City Gujranwala and reviewed the performance of Chief Minister Wi-Fi facility and the Virtual Women Police Station. He also visited the headquarters of the CCD and Dolphin Force.

 

A high-level meeting chaired by the IG Punjab was held at the RPO Office Gujranwala, attended by RPO Khurram Shahzad Haider Warraich, all district officers, and heads of various units. During the briefing, the RPO Gujranwala briefed that compared to the first quarter of last year, 765 fewer robbery cases were recorded in Gujranwala Region during the first quarter of 2026, while the overall crime rate also witnessed a significant decline. IG Punjab said that, like Gujranwala Region, a full-scale crackdown against drug dealers is continuing across Punjab. He said that complete control over crime in the riverine areas has been achieved and no-go areas have been eliminated. Due to the special efforts of the Punjab Chief Minister, significant improvements have been made in educational institutions and police infrastructure in the riverine areas. IG Punjab said that, in line with the Punjab Chief Minister’s vision, improvements are being made in the traffic system, public awareness regarding traffic laws has increased, and the trend of helmet usage has risen significantly. During his visit to Gujranwala, the IG Punjab met the daughter of ASI Saif Ullah, who successfully passed the CSS examination, congratulated her, and expressed best wishes for her bright future. While talking to the media, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that through an effective strategy, teamwork, and the use of modern technology, a significant reduction in the crime rate has been recorded across the Punjab.
