World Thalassemia Awareness Day: IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Committed for better Treatment & Welfare of Children of Police employees Suffering from Thalassemia.

 

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem has said on the occasion of World Thalassemia Awareness Day that Punjab Police is fully committed to the best treatment & welfare of children of police employees suffering from thalassemia. He said that provision of blood donations for children suffering from thalassemia is being ensured, while blood donation camps are also being organized in Lahore and all districts in collaboration with institutions actively working against thalassemia. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that under the “Hamaray Phool Project”, monthly financial assistance is also being provided to children of police employees affected by thalassemia for their medical expenses. He shared that regular monthly payments of Rs. 30,000 each are being made to 172 registered children of police employees across the province. IG Punjab further said that more than Rs. 15.4 million have so far been provided to children suffering from thalassemia during the current year. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that measures are being continued in collaboration with various hospitals and welfare organizations for the treatment of children suffering from thalassemia and Punjab Police will continue to play its full role in the assistance, welfare and well-being of affected children.
