Punjab Police continues welfare initiatives for force and their families

More than Rs. 87 crore 42 lakh 26 thousand rupees spent on welfare of police force and their families during the current year: Punjab Police Spokesperson

Punjab Police continues to take measures for the welfare of its force and their families. In continuation of these efforts, a total of more than Rs. 87 crore 42 lakh 26 thousand has been spent on the welfare of police personnel and their families during the current year.

Punjab Police spokesperson, while providing details, said that more than Rs. 26 crore 89 lakh were disbursed under educational scholarships for the children of police employees. More than Rs. 24 crore were provided to the daughters of police employees in the form of wedding gifts. Similarly, more than Rs. 13 crore 49 lakh were released to assist police employees and their families in medical treatment facilities, while more than Rs. 11 crore 29 lakh were disbursed as retirement grants to police employees.

The Punjab Police spokesperson further said that under maintenance allowance, more than Rs. 8 crore 88 lakh were provided to the families of police employees. Under funeral expenses, Rs. 2 crore 18 lakh 50 thousand were given to the families of the force, while more than Rs. 59 lakh 63 thousand were released as immediate financial assistance to police personnel.

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the process of addressing the difficulties of employees and their families through the Police Welfare Fund and other welfare sources will continue, and welfare initiatives are being further made more effective to provide all possible facilities to the force.
