PSL 11 Final Match Held at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore, Punjab Police Ensured Strict Security measures

 

On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, foolproof security arrangements were ensured in Lahore on the occasion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final match. PSL 11 final was played between Hyderabad Kingsmen and Peshawar Zalmi at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore. Punjab Police officers and personnel provided comprehensive security to local and foreign players, officials, and cricket fans, while more than 7,000 police officers and personnel performed security duties during the match. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem directed supervisory officers to personally review all arrangements, including security and traffic management, while police personnel deployed at duty points remained on high alert and kept a vigilant eye on suspicious activities.

 

IG Punjab said that complete coordination was maintained with the district administration, security agencies, and other relevant departments to ensure the peaceful conduct of the PSL event. On the directions of IG Punjab, teams of Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force ensured effective patrolling around the teams’ routes and Qaddafi Stadium. Abdul Kareem further said that search, sweep, and combing operations, along with intelligence-based operations, continued around the teams’ residences, routes, and the stadium. Teams’ routes, the stadium, residences, and other important locations remained under constant monitoring through CCTV cameras, while police snipers were also deployed on high-rise buildings surrounding the stadium. IG Punjab further said that traffic advisories were also issued to guide citizens and ensure smooth traffic flow. Cricket fans and citizens enjoyed the match while fully cooperating with the instructions issued by the police.
