Comprehensive security arrangements ensured for rallies and events on Labour Day, IG Punjab
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, while paying tribute to the great services of the working class on the occasion of World Labour Day, said that workers hold the status of the backbone in the country’s construction and development, economic stability, and the promotion of business activities. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police reaffirms its commitment to the protection of workers and safeguarding their rights. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that under the worker-friendly vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the protection and welfare of the working class are among the top priorities. He said that implementation of zero-tolerance policy is being ensured against exploitation, violence, and harassment of workers, domestic employees, and the daily wage class.
He further said that Punjab Police is continuing full cooperation with the relevant institutions for the elimination of child labour and bonded labour so that the protection of workers’ rights can be ensured. IG Punjab said that foolproof security arrangements have been made for rallies, gatherings, and other events being held across the province on the occasion of World Labour Day, and Punjab Police is continuing all possible measures for the protection of the lives and property of citizens.
