Punjab Police Holds Closing Ceremony for 12th and 13th Internship Batches

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Emphasizes Strengthening Academic Ties for Education and Research Promotion

The closing ceremony of the 12th and 13th batches of the Punjab Police Internship Program was held at the Central Police Office, Lahore, where Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem distributed certificates among students who successfully completed the internship. Addressing the ceremony on this occasion, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the experiences gained during the internship would prove helpful in the career development of students. He said that direct linkages with teachers and students are being promoted in the field of education and research.

Punjab Police spokesperson while providing details, said that 35 students from the University of the Punjab and 30 students from Lahore Garrison University participated in this internship program. The students were attached to various branches of Punjab Police for six weeks, where they received practical training. The students completed their internships in various departments including CTD, Safe Cities Authority, Operations, Investigation, RMP, PHP, SPU, Traffic, and IT. During this period, they also presented reports based on their experiences. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that Punjab Police has so far provided internship opportunities to 463 students from various educational institutions.

At the end of the ceremony, souvenirs and commemorative shields were also exchanged between Punjab Police and the heads of educational institutions. Additional IG Training Punjab Khurram Shakoor, DIG Training Munir Ahmad Zia Rao, and other senior officers attended the ceremony. In addition, Head of the Criminology Department from Punjab University Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Safdar, Associate Dean from Lahore Garrison University Kokab Jamal Zuberi, Head of the Criminology Department Kausar Parveen, and Team Lead Sheroz Malik also participated.
