Punjab Police is actively engaged across the province to ensure best public service delivery and enforcement of traffic laws.

During the current year, more than 3 million 35 thousand driving licenses have been issued, Punjab Police spokesperson.

Punjab Police is actively engaged across the province to ensure efficient public service delivery and enforcement of traffic laws, in continuation of which more than 3 million 35 thousand driving licenses have been issued during the current year. Punjab Police spokesperson said that more than 3 million 55 thousand challans have been issued for violation of traffic rules, and fines exceeding 6 billion 50 crore rupees have been imposed. 34,877 smoke-emitting vehicles were challaned, 5,984 vehicles were impounded at police stations, while fitness certificates of 28 vehicles were confiscated.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, while directing continued action against violators of traffic laws, said that implementation of amended traffic laws, reforms, and the modern system must be ensured at all costs. He directed that strict action must be taken without any discrimination against violations of traffic rules. IG Punjab further said that SHOs and SDPOs should take joint measures for the elimination of chaotic traffic and prevention of accidents. Ongoing crackdown against overloading, over speeding, underage drivers, and those violating one-way rules should be intensified. He further directed that effective measures be taken for recovery from defaulters of traffic challans.
