Punjab Police continues vigorous crackdown on violations of the Anti-Kite Flying Act

 

On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, Punjab Police is continuing vigorous operations across the province against those violating the Anti-Kite Flying Act. Punjab Police spokesperson, while sharing details, said that this year, 8659 accused have been arrested and 8348 cases have been registered across the province including Lahore for violations of the Anti-Kite Flying Act. During this period, 453,390 kites and 12,992 string reels were also recovered. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that in the provincial capital Lahore, 3810 accused were arrested while 3663 cases were registered. In Lahore, 111,971 kites and 4,159 string reels were recovered. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has issued clear instructions that kite flying at any place in the province is absolutely intolerable and indiscriminate strict action should be taken against those involved in this dangerous activity. He further said that elements involved in the online business of metallic string and kites should also be brought within the ambit of law. IG Punjab urged parents to keep their children away from this deadly activity, while citizens should prove themselves responsible by immediately informing on 15 about kite flying at any location.
