Over 25,000 complaints resolved by IGP complaint centre: Punjab Police

LAHORE  -  The Punjab Police’s IGP Complaint Center 1787 has resolved more than 25,000 public complaints so far this year, according to official data. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, stated that complaints submitted by citizens are being addressed within the prescribed timelines under standard operating procedures. He added that the monitoring system has been upgraded to improve oversight, with District Police Officers (DPOs) directly supervising complaint resolution. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the resolved complaints include 12,137 related to the registration of cases and 6,277 concerning delays in investigations. In addition, 1,820 complaints were related to police services, while over 5,000 were categorized as departmental and other issues. The data further shows that 1,354 complaints regarding arrests, 2,303 related to recovery matters, and 1,265 concerning faulty investigations have been addressed. Authorities also resolved 667 complaints involving the cancellation of alleged false cases and 421 related to changes in investigation.
