Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem paid glowing tribute to the Punjab Police personnel who embraced martyrdom during the Rajanpur Katcha Operation on the occasion of their 10th anniversary and said that the brave sons who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty are the pride of the nation and their sacrifices will always be remembered. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police salutes its brave martyrs and their families and all possible measures will continue to be taken for their welfare and well-being. He further said that the great sacrifices of the martyrs are a guiding light for the police department and their memory will always remain alive.
Punjab Police spokesperson said that on this day in 2016, during the Rajanpur Katcha Operation, 6 officers and personnel of Punjab Police embraced martyrdom in an encounter with the Chotu Gang. The martyrs included one Sub-Inspector, one Head Constable and four Constables. Those who embraced martyrdom include Sub-Inspector Muhammad Hanif, Head Constable Muhammad Ajmal, and Constables Ubaidullah Faheem, Muhammad Tariq, Amanullah and Muhammad Shakeel, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
