Punjab Police Remained on High Alert During Easter; Strict Security Arrangements Ensured

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem Extends Easter Greetings to the Christian Community and Christian Officers and Personnel of the Police Force

Punjab Police remained on high alert across the province on the occasion of Easter, and strict security arrangements were ensured in all districts. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, extended Easter greetings to the Christian community as well as to all Christian officers and personnel of Punjab Police. He said that Punjab Police shares in the joy of the Christian community and is fully committed to ensuring their protection at all costs. IG Punjab said that more than 17,000 police officers and personnel were deployed across the province to provide security for 3,153 Easter-related religious events, while in Lahore alone, over 3,000 officers and personnel performed duties for the security of 647 events.
 
He further said that additional personnel, snipers, and police commandos were deployed at sensitive churches, while entry was allowed only after thorough checking and identification of participants. IG Punjab directed that police and community volunteers should remain highly vigilant and keep a close watch on suspicious individuals, objects, and surrounding activities. Supervisory police officers should personally monitor security arrangements at churches, while RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs should remain in constant coordination with the concerned church administrations. He further directed that Dolphin Force, PRU, and Elite Force personnel should ensure effective patrolling around sensitive churches, and no officer should leave their duty point until the conclusion of Easter prayers and religious gatherings. According to IG Punjab Abdul Kareem, security checking at entry and exit points of cities has been further tightened to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for citizens.
