Deportation of illegally residing foreigners accelerated across Punjab

Spokesperson says Punjab Police deported 32,932 illegally residing foreign nationals.

LAHORE  -  The process of deportation of foreign nationals residing illegally across Punjab has been further accelerated. Punjab Police Spokesperson, while sharing details, said that so far 32,932 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghans, have been deported from across the province including Lahore, while 401 illegally residing individuals are present at various holding points. Spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that among those deported, 12,498 are men, 6,686 are women and 13,748 are children. Among those deported, 10,482 had proof of residence, 11,100 were Afghan Citizen Card holders, while 11,350 were illegally residing foreign nationals. Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said that security is on high alert across the province and deportation of all illegally residing individuals is being ensured. He further said that Punjab Police is following the policy of deportation of illegally residing individuals in accordance with international laws and human rights are being fully observed throughout the process.
