Punjab Police continue IBOs across province

During past two weeks, 9,784 operations conducted: 2,171 suspects, anti-state elements taken into custody.

 

LAHORE   -  In view of the current western border situation, Punjab Police are effectively continuing intelligence-based and combing operations across the province, including Lahore. Providing details, the Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that during the past two weeks, a total of 9,784 operations were conducted across the province including Lahore, and 2,171 suspected and criminal individuals were taken into custody. A total of 650 intelligence-based operations were conducted during which 12,711 individuals were questioned, while 576 criminal individuals were taken into custody. During the intelligence-based operations, more than 2.5 kilograms of explosive material, 12 detonators, 4 Kalashnikovs and 37 feet of safety fuse wire were recovered from the possession of miscreants and anti-state elements.

During the same period, 9,134 combing operations were also conducted across the province, in which more than 309,000 individuals were checked and 1,595 criminals and suspected individuals were taken into custody. During the operations, 5 Kalashnikovs, 23 rifles, 187 pistols, 9 guns and a large quantity of bullets were recovered from the possession of criminal elements. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, has said that intelligence-based and combing operations will continue uninterrupted to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable.
