On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, officers and personnel of Punjab Police remained on high alert and performed security duties during Shabina gatherings and nafli prayers in mosques and places of worship on the 27th night of Ramadan across the province including Lahore. Special security arrangements were made by Punjab Police to provide a peaceful environment to citizens. Earlier, IG Punjab directed that security of mosques and places of worship be further enhanced and instructed police officers and personnel deployed on duty to remain highly alert and keep a strict watch on suspicious individuals. He also directed supervisory officers to personally review the security arrangements of mosques and places of worship and brief the deployed personnel so that complete protection could be ensured for citizens during the performance of their prayers. IG Punjab further directed that teams of Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU) and Elite Force should continue effective patrolling in the surroundings of mosques and places of worship, and immediate action should be taken in case of any suspicious activity.
