Punjab Highway Patrol Releases Performance Report for February 2026
Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) is actively operating across the province to provide services to citizens, ensure their safety, and uphold traffic laws on highways. Punjab Highway Patrol has released its performance report for February 2026, which shows that PHP made significant efforts to prevent crime, facilitate citizens, and improve traffic flow through modern technology, effective strategies, and vigilant policing. Punjab Police spokesperson, providing details, said that Punjab Highway Patrol checked 4.6 million individuals on highways through the E-Police Post app, while during these checks, 409 wanted criminals and court absconders were arrested. A total of 2.7 million vehicles were checked across the province’s highways, and 164 stolen cars and motorcycles were recovered and returned to their owners.
During February, legal action was taken against 17,987 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load regulations, while 27,100 vehicles causing smog and air pollution by emitting smoke were also penalized. Action was taken against 831 vehicles for the illegal use of gas cylinders. For citizens’ convenience, 85,744 driving licenses were issued, and 39 missing children were traced and reunited with their parents. Similarly, 1,141 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed from highways to improve traffic flow, while 20,460 passengers were provided with various types of assistance and guidance on the roads.
Furthermore, 185 passengers injured in various accidents were provided first aid, while 154 severely injured passengers were immediately transferred to hospitals. Police Khidmat Marakaz provided various policing services to 32,560 citizens. Fifteen cases were registered for the illegal use of firearms, with 15 pistols and hundreds of bullets recovered from the suspects’ possession. During operations against drug traffickers, 331 liters of liquor and 24 grams of hashish were seized.
