LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Saturday held a meeting with the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (Pera) Director General Capt retd Farrukh Atiq and assured him of full support. During the meeting, the Pera DG briefed the IGP on the authority’s objectives, challenges, and notable achievements. The IGP said that full support would be provided to Pera in its formation, human resources, operational and technical matters. He said that over 3,000 police officers and personnel were provided to Pera in Phase-1, while additional human resources and advanced training would be provided in Phase-2. He further said that Pera officers and personnel received 18 weeks of modern training at the Police Training College Chung, while an additional 1,300 sergeants and investigation officers would be provided with state-of-the-art training. The IGP assured the Pera DG of continued full support in operational, technical, and training matters in the future. On this occasion, the DG appreciated the key role of Punjab Police in making the authority active and successful.
