Funeral prayers for martyred police personnel offered at District Police Lines Bhakkar
LAHORE/BHAKKAR - Funeral prayers for the police personnel martyred in the suicide attack at the Dajal inter-provincial police check post were offered at the District Police Lines Bhakkar. Punjab Police Inspector General Abdul Kareem, Additional-IG CTD Waseem Ahmad Sial, RPO Sargodha Dr Shahzad Asif, Station Commander Brigadier Rashid Siddique Khokhar, Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar Ehsan Ali Jamali, DPO Bhakkar Shahzad Rafiq, along with senior officers of police and other law enforcement agencies attended the funeral prayers. A large number of family members of the martyrs, notables of the area and individuals from different walks of life were also present at the funeral prayers. A smartly turned-out police contingent presented salute to the martyrs. IG Punjab and other senior officers laid floral wreaths on the coffins of the martyrs and offered prayers for the elevation of their ranks. On this occasion, IGP met with the families of the martyrs and said that the sacrifices of police personnel for the protection of the homeland and the establishment of law and order are unforgettable. He said that operations against Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij would continue with full force and the blood of the martyrs will not be allowed to go in vain.
Later, IG Punjab reached DHQ Hospital Bhakkar where he inquired after Muhammad Zubair, a polio worker injured in the suicide attack. He asked about the health of the injured polio worker and prayed for his speedy recovery. Additional IG CTD and DPO Bhakkar were also present with him on this occasion. IG Punjab said that the martyred police personnel sacrificed their lives and prevented the suicide bomber from entering the police check post. The history of Punjab Police is filled with the eternal sacrifices of brave and fearless personnel, and the police will never allow terrorists to succeed in their nefarious designs. Punjab Police spokesperson said that in the Dajal inter-provincial check post attack, two police personnel were martyred while one police personnel was injured, who has been shifted to Multan for further treatment. Meanwhile, IG Punjab visited the Dajal inter-provincial check post and conducted a detailed inspection of the blast site. RPO Sargodha and DPO Bhakkar briefed IG Punjab about the details of the incident and initial evidence. He issued orders to further tighten security at all inter-provincial check posts across the province and said that the elements involved in this cowardly act of terrorism will be brought to justice at all costs. IG Punjab met the officers and personnel deployed at the check post and appreciated their high morale. He said that Punjab Police is fully capable of dealing with all kinds of challenges, the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain and all resources will be utilized for the establishment of law and order.
Later, IG Punjab reached Mianwali where he paid a surprise visit to the inter-provincial Remote Search Park Chashma located at the Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border. He conducted a detailed review of the border entry and exit points, sensitive locations, manpower, weapons, ammunition and security equipment. In the context of the Dajal check post suicide attack, IG Punjab directed strict checking of traffic coming from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, keeping the force on high alert at all times and continuing intelligence-based operations. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is fully prepared to deal with every challenge of terrorism, the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain and all resources will be utilized for the establishment of law and order in the province. Abdul Kareem said that despite difficult circumstances, the personnel of Punjab Police deserve appreciation for the best performance of their duties.
