Punjab Police Strengthen Security During Ramadan: 337 Search operations conducted

Over 9,000 individuals questioned province-wide, 15 suspects arrested

IG Punjab orders acceleration of search, sweep, and door-knocking operations

Punjab Police have stepped up search, sweep, and combing operations across the province, including Lahore, to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and properties during Ramadan. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that in the last 24 hours, a total of 337 search operations were conducted across the province, during which 9,597 individuals were questioned and 15 criminal suspects were taken into custody. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that so far this year, 17,742 search operations have been conducted province-wide, questioning over 726,000 individuals and resulting in the arrest of 2,093 criminal suspects. During the search operations, 37 rifles, 397 pistols, 62 shotguns, and a large number of bullets were recovered from the possession of the suspects.

Inspector General Punjab Police Abdul Kareem issued instructions that search, sweep, and combing operations against anti-state and criminal elements should continue without interruption. He also emphasized making door-knocking operations more effective to prevent activities of terrorists and extremist elements. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that maintaining law and order during Ramadan is the top priority of Punjab Police, and with the cooperation of the public, every criminal element will be held accountable.
