Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office, in which a detailed review of the progress on reform targets set by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif was conducted. IGP Punjab Abdul Kareem was briefed by senior officers on the implementation of short-term, medium-term, and long-term CM reforms matrix. IGP Punjab Abdul Kareem directed that the dignity and respect of citizens visiting police stations, front desks, Khidmat Marakaz, and police workplaces must be ensured under all circumstances.

IGP Punjab Abdul Kareem instructed RPOs and DPOs to call citizens on daily basis to obtain feedback regarding police conduct and to implement necessary actions. IGP Punjab said that strict action must be taken against responsible officers and personnel in cases of unjustified delay in FIR registration, poor investigation, and complaints of misconduct. IGP Punjab emphasized that there is a zero-tolerance policy for corruption, abuse of authority, and misconduct, and no one will be given any exception.

IGP Punjab Abdul Kareem directed the prompt installation of panic buttons outside police stations and the provision of body cameras to personnel performing duty on roads and in workplaces. IGP Punjab stressed the continuation of training sessions to improve the mental and physical grooming and behavior of officials. IGP Punjab also instructed immediate measures to make the supervisory role of SDPOs more effective. IGP Punjab said that SDPOs must reach crime scenes and ensure the preservation of forensic evidence under all circumstances. IGP Punjab Abdul Kareem further ordered that the crackdown on traffic law violations be continued more effectively. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Investigation, Additional IG Operations, Additional IG Logistics, MD Safe Cities Authority, DIG Traffic, DIG IAB, DIG Technical Procurement, and DIG Welfare, among other senior officers, while RPO Sargodha Dr. Shahzad Asif participated in the meeting via video link.
