Punjab Police intensified crackdown across the province to ensure Law and Order during the Holy Month of Ramzan.

1,299 Members of 555 Organized Gangs Arrested This Year, Stolen Property Recovered.

IG Punjab directed Further Intensification of Indiscriminate Actions Against Criminal Elements.

Punjab Police have launched vigorous and effective operations against organized criminal groups throughout the province including Lahore, to ensure law and order and protect citizens’ lives and properties during the holy month of Ramadan. Punjab Police spokesperson while sharing details, said that during the current year, operations conducted across the province resulted in the arrest of 1,299 members of 555 organized gangs. Stolen property worth more than Rs. 294.7 million was recovered from the arrested suspects. Similarly, cash amounting to Rs. 204 million, 25 vehicles, and 364 motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the accused. In addition, 77 tolas of gold, 181 livestock animals, and 623 mobile phones were also recovered. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that a large quantity of weapons was also recovered, including 117 Kalashnikovs, 211 rifles, 3,494 pistols, 275 guns, 76 revolvers, and 13,950 rounds of ammunition. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has directed that ongoing operations against criminal elements be further intensified, made more effective, and carried out without discrimination to ensure the protection of citizens’ life and properties during the holy month of Ramadan.
