On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, weekly general parade was held across the province including Lahore. Senior police officers inspected the parade, while the participating contingents presented salute. In the general parade, officers and personnel from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Ladies Police, Investigation Wing and Operations Wing police stations participated wholeheartedly. Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the parade, senior officers checked the turnout of the officers and personnel participating in the parade. The smartly turned-out contingents participating in the general parade performed an impressive march past, while female personnel also took part in the general parade. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that the general parade is being held regularly across the province every Monday.
On this occasion, district officers also inspected the quarter guard, Motor Transport Wing, miscellaneous stores, uniform warehouse and other branches. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the purpose of the general parade is to keep personnel alert at all times and to promote discipline, unity and an atmosphere of brotherhood among them. He said that the parade is the best manifestation of the discipline, history, heritage and tradition of any force. Through the general parade, officers and personnel maintain their fitness, which further improves the overall performance of the police force.
