Punjab Police’s crackdown against proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, and court absconders wanted in heinous crimes continues this year

Punjab Police continues its vigorous and sustained crackdown this year against proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, and court absconders wanted in heinous crimes. The Spokesperson for Punjab Police, while sharing details, said that during the current year a total of 16,881 proclaimed offenders have been arrested across the province, including Lahore. Among them were 5,497 Category-A and 11,384 Category-B proclaimed offenders. Across the province, 5,355 court absconders were also apprehended, including 1,161 Category-A and 4,194 Category-B absconders. The spokesperson further added that during the same period 2,543 habitual criminals were arrested, comprising 777 Category-A and 1,766 Category-B habitual offenders. During the ongoing crackdown in the provincial capital Lahore, 3,057 proclaimed offenders, 2,104 court absconders, and 787 habitual criminals were arrested. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem praised the performance of the police teams involved in arresting proclaimed offenders, court absconders, and habitual criminals, commended them for their efforts, and directed that the crackdown to apprehend proclaimed offenders across the province be made even more effective and faster.
