Kashmir Solidarity Day: Security remained on high alert across the province, including Lahore

 

 

 

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Rao Abdul Kareem, said on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day that Punjab Police salutes the brave, principled, and prolonged struggle of the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Kashmiri people have been fighting for freedom, the right to self-determination, and survival for several decades, and Punjab Police reiterates its full support for their legitimate right. On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the IG Punjab issued orders to keep security on high alert across the province, including the provincial capital Lahore, and to maintain strict vigilance over miscreants and anti-state elements. Punjab Police spokesperson said that more than 10,000 police officers and personnel were deployed across the province, including Lahore, for security and traffic arrangements on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day. A total of 176 supervisory officers, 231 inspectors, 553 sub-inspectors, 919 assistant sub-inspectors, 200 women police personnel, and 8,000 constabulary personnel performed duties on security assignments.

 

Punjab Police spokesperson further said that on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, a total of 378 programmes were provided foolproof security across the province, including Lahore. These included 279 rallies, 81 seminars, and 19 other events. Additional force was deployed at Kashmir Solidarity rallies held at sensitive locations and at A-category programmes. IG Punjab Rao Abdul Kareem directed officers to further strengthen checking at entry and exit points of cities on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day. He directed RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, and traffic officers to personally supervise security and traffic arrangements for Kashmir Solidarity Day events so that the atmosphere of peace and order is maintained at all costs.
