Punjab Police Conduct Full-Scale Operation in Katcha Area of Rahim Yar Khan, 90 percent of the area cleared of dacoits.

Underground bunkers destroyed in drone strikes, several dacoits injured, 139 surrendered.

 Punjab Police, in coordination with law-enforcement agencies, is continuing a full-scale and effective operation against criminal elements in the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan. Providing details, the spokesperson for Punjab Police said that during the recent operation, reports have been received of more dacoits being injured as a result of drone strikes, while underground bunkers of the dacoits have been destroyed. During the ongoing operation in Katcha, so far 2 dacoits have been killed, while a total of 139 dacoits have laid down their arms and surrendered themselves to the law. Ninety percent of the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan has been cleared.

Punjab Police spokesperson further said that so far 12 most-wanted dacoits carrying head money, as declared by the Government of Punjab, have also surrendered. Overall, 90 percent of the Katcha areas of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur have been cleared of dacoits after approximately 10 years. DPO Rahim Yar Khan Irfan Ali Samo said that surgical strikes are ongoing against dacoits who refuse to surrender before the law. He said that most of the dacoits have been killed, while many have laid down their arms and abandoned the world of crime. The surrendered dacoits will be investigated strictly on merit and will be given full opportunity to obtain justice through the courts. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while appreciating the successful and effective actions against Kacha criminals, commended Rahim Yar Khan Police and praised the professional capabilities and bravery of the force.
