Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, on the occasion of Friday, issued orders to enhance security across the province, including Lahore. IG Punjab directed that fool proof security of mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets, and sensitive locations must be ensured. IG Punjab directed that patrolling be increased at mosques, imambargahs, business centers, and major roads. IG Punjab said that maintaining law and order, and the protection of citizens’ lives, properties, and assets, is the top priority of the Punjab Police. In this regard, all DPOs and senior police officers should remain present in the field and personally review the security arrangements. Dr. Usman Anwar further directed that police officers listen to citizens’ problems in mosques after the Friday prayers and take steps to resolve them on the spot. He said senior officers should listen to citizens’ issues through mosques, reaching to the doorstep of their homes, and ensure their resolution.
